On May 27 /2010, Fashionably Yours participated in the Sex & The City Event put on by our friend Shannae from What Women Want. The FY crew got dressed up and got ready to work but  it turns out work turned to fun and we had a blast. The SATC ladies loved all the Fashionably Yours accessories because we sold out of almost everything!!! A huge thanks to Shannae and all the volunteers for putting together this fantastic event. What a huge success!!! FY loves WWW!

FY is a supporter of the DONATE-A-DRESS project and we are the official drop off location today for this amazing cause! Visit us today and donate a dress and it will go to one of the countless woman living in YWCA shelters across the GTA. Help one (or more) less fortunate woman this holiday season look and feel their best in a new dress!! Fashionably Yours will be donating several dresses from our staff and some of our consignors. If you are a consignor and interested in donating a dress or one of your remaining dresses, please call our store at 647.802.9687 to make arrangements.

We will be open late tonight for this special cause, so pop in from 6-8pm to drop off a dress (or blouse, shoes, purse, etc) and you can even do a little private Xmas shopping at FY! We will be offering special extra discounts tonight for anyone who donates a dress. See you tonight! xoxo

Fashionably Yours will be providing gift bags for the 1st annual Frocktail Party! A stylish evening in support of Juvenile Diabetes Research.

The first annual Frocktail Party will be held at the penthouse loft of the Burroughes Building Today!!! Thursday Nov 12 at 7pm.

The Frocktail Party silent auction will feature dresses from Canadian designers such as: Ashley Rowe, Greta Constantine, David Dixon, Jeremy Laing, Aime by Monica Mei, Mark Peros, Andy The-Anh and Jay Godfrey. Local celebrities including CTV’s Leah Miller, eTalk’s Tanya Kim, television personality Valerie Pringle, blogger Lainey Lui and Fashion Television’s Jeanne Beker have all generously donated a favorite pre-loved gown for the cause.

Recent additions include: Coco Rocha’s Sunny Fong gown from Project Runway, Bagdley Mischka and Nicole Miller dresses courtesy of Andrew’s, two hot little numbers form French Connection Canada and pre-loved designer dresses including: Marc Jacobs, Dior, BCBG, D&G, Mint by Jodi Arnold and Nanette Lapore. All featured frocks will be auctioned for purchase with 100% of proceeds going to the JDRF – so let the bidding begin!

Enjoy delicious bites while you bid from Oliver and Bonancini and sip on signature Stolichnaya and Green Tea Liqueur cocktails and the finest brews courtesy of Labatt.

After the silent auction, get ready to turn up the volume and hit the dance floor! MTV News Host & DJ, Johnny Hockin will be keeping the party going all night long, spinning hot tracks from his expansive collection.

While the men browse, the women beautify at “The FGI Beauty Boutique.” Sponsored by Fashion Group International Toronto and including hair by Chiggy’s Touch and make up touch-ups by Agency Vert. Also featuring Annesley Broadhead, CARGO’s National Trainer handing out CARGO’s latest High Definition Make Up line.

INSPIRATION & BACKGROUND: The Frocktail Party started with a close group of friends who wanted to make a difference: Ali Reid, Talor Wallace, Catherine Pringle, Sabrina Carr, Christina Perreault, Lorraine Forster and Jen Foster who have long standing friendships with sisters Vanessa and Jessica Oliver — Vanessa was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at six-years old and has lived with daily insulin injections, finger pokes, insulin pump and the worry of long-term complications every day for the past 25 years. In their ten-year relationship with the Oliver family, the girls have seen Vanessa and the Oliver family face these challenges with courage, grace and a fierce commitment to supporting a quest for a cure. With this, they were inspired to create the Frocktail Party to show love and gain support for this important cause.
